With its rich military heritage, Fayetteville is the perfect place to house the North Carolina Veterans Park, the first state park dedicated to military veterans – young and old, living or deceased, from all branches of the Armed Services: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard. The city’s beautifully revitalized historic downtown area is a fitting location, given the spirit of renewal embodied in the park.

The primary theme of the North Carolina Veterans Park (NCVP) is a Veteran’s Journey: life before, during, and after service”. The secondary theme is rebirth and healing. This park represents redevelopment of an underutilized and environmentally challenged site, and is an opportunity to be a key revitalization component for downtown Fayetteville. The goal was to create a a 21st Century park that was designed for reflection and celebration with bold, unique, and captivating exhibits. Today the park is a place where veterans can gather and where every visitor can share the moving tribute of a grateful state, honoring those to whom our nation owes its freedom. The park

The park incorporates many natural and architectural elements — consisting of a visitors’ center, 7 water features, walking paths, and public art including the Oath of Service Wall. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on July 4, 2011 to officially open the park and to commemorate veterans from all branches of the military. Over 3000 people were present for the ceremony including elected officials, community leaders, military personnel and countless veterans.

This project features the Selux Ritorno, providing the perfect balance of performance and elegance, allowing for harmonious park lighting. Selux is proud to be a part of this National landmark.

  • Ritorno by Selux uses indirect lighting to produce uniform, shadow-free distributions while creating a comfortable ambiance. Uniquely-designed shades on Ritorno, help block light from off-site glare. Use Ritorno individually on a pole or wall mount, or combine light engine and shades into unique configurations. The Ritorno LED retrofit kit can replace less energy-efficient modules without the need for complete new fixtures.
