Lighting the Heart of the Sea: Selux Illuminates Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas
When Royal Caribbean International set out to redefine what it means to cruise, they envisioned more than just a ship — they imagined an entire world at sea. That vision became the Icon Class: a fleet of extraordinary vessels built to inspire wonder, connection, and joy for every guest on board. Beginning with Icon of the Seas, which set sail in 2024, then Star of the Seas in 2025, there are at least three more ships in this class that have been committed to and ordered.

Now, as the third ship in this revolutionary series — Legend of the Seas — nears completion at the MEYER TURKU shipyard in Finland, Selux Corporation is proud to help bring that vision to light. Quite literally.

First introduced on Icon of the Seas, the Olivio lights have become a defining element of the Surfside experience. Their graceful forms and soft, ambient glow transform the open-air decks into welcoming, playful environments where families can relax, gather, and explore long after the sun sets.

Selux collaborated closely with Project International, Royal Caribbean’s lighting design consultants, and the MEYER TURKU shipyard to ensure the Olivio luminaires blended seamlessly into Surfside’s intention.
