Mid-Hudson Medical Group
Poughkeepsie, New York
The Mid-Hudson Medical Group (now Caremount Medical Group) needed a state-of-the-art medical office building to serve their rapidly expanding practice. The new Poughkeepsie office building along the Hudson River allows physicians to provide one-stop medical care with offices, exam rooms, x-ray suites, and specialty equipment such as a CAT scan, MRI, and a nuclear camera.
The construction of the four-story, 14,400 square foot building required extensive logistical planning to minimize disruptions to the adjacent medical center and surrounding community. This included careful sequencing of any utility work and also scheduling of deliveries to limit traffic impacts.
The building also features many new technologies that are environmentally sensitive and provide energy efficiency. Designers minimized the environmental impact to the mixed residential/commercial area by using the "Dark-Sky Friendly" Saturn 2 luminaire, which directs light where it's needed the most, reducing light pollution.
