Inger­soll Com­mons was built in effort to meet the City’s afford­able hous­ing, stormwa­ter man­age­ment and open space goals. Inger­soll Com­mons is part of the City’s Green Plan Philadel­phia” ini­tia­tive to bring new open space to under­served neigh­bor­hoods.

Home­own­ers and city offi­cials cel­e­brated the rebirth of a former vacant lot that had been vacant for years. The 10-unit hous­ing t was devel­oped in hopes to revi­tal­ize the com­mu­nity and improve the qual­ity of life in that area. These homes are energy-effi­cient with gas-fired fur­naces, Energy Star insu­la­tions and tan­k­less water heaters. All homes face the new Park.

In addi­tion to the new homes, a new City park fea­tur­ing beau­ti­ful land­scap­ing and large trees along path­way. The park is lit with Selux Son­neLiter LED, solar-pow­ered pedes­trian lights that add to the energy-effi­cient com­mu­nity.

  • Selux Solar lighting products were designed to offer one of the most impressive and well-designed systems available. An advanced Energy Management System (EMS) utilizing SO-Bright® controls from SolarOne Solutions is the heart of the system. SO-Bright® controls allow for custom operating profiles, Maximum Power-Point Tracking (MPT), Run Time Extension (RTE), and Wireless Programming. All major components including luminaire, PV modules, and batteries are constantly monitored to ensure reliable operation. No lift required for diagnosing problems, checking component status, or reprogramming - the provided wireless remote does all this from the ground and can even be used as an on/off switch for the luminaire. UL listed PV modules are available up to 280W and Absorbed Glass Matt (AGM) batteries up to 352Ah maintain capacity better in cold climates. Four unique luminaires and optical systems produce precise distributions with maximum visual comfort. All parts of the system are neatly packaged to provide a clean look. In combination with the First Light Technologies solar package, the Inula Solar bollard is the premier choice for off-grid applications. The 4W Solar system and 3000K and 4500K LED light engines are complemented by a high efficiency Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) charge controller. The entire system is designed to automatically manage the light output based on environmental conditions and lighting requirements. Different run profiles allow for optimal performance based on location.
