Q: How did your journey with Selux begin?
I started as a temp on the night shift in the paint shop, which worked well for my family at the time because of childcare needs. After my assignment, I was hired on full-time and eventually worked my way up to a lead role.

Q: What’s your current role like?
As the Paint Shop Lead and Shop Steward, my week includes planning production, training team members, staying on schedule, and managing powder inventory. It’s a fast-paced environment, and I enjoy keeping everything on track.

Q: What differences will the new paint room make in your day-to-day?
The new paint room will allow us to save time and free up employees to utilize elsewhere. This new paint system has a quick color change allowing us to cut down on the time between color runs. With the new system being automated, there is only need for one operator, currently we have two powder coaters, freeing up an employee to help at another spot in the department.

Q: What departments have you worked in?
Working nights gave me the opportunity to learn from other departments - like the machine shop, warehouse, assembly, and shipping. It gave me a well-rounded view of the company and helped me grow.

Q: What do you love about working at Selux?
The benefits here are great! Especially the 4-day work week, health insurance, and having the company shut down for the holidays so I can spend time with my family.

Q: What’s been your proudest achievement so far?
I’m proud of how quickly I moved up within the company. With each new responsibility, I’ve grown more confident in my role and in leading a team.

Q: How do you contribute to the success of Selux?
I make sure the lines of communication stay open between teams. When challenges arise, I respond quickly to keep production moving and ensure we meet deadlines.

Q: What’s most rewarding about your job?
Leading a team that respects each other and takes pride in their work is something I really value. Plus, seeing our finished products in places like stadiums or schools around our area—it’s amazing to know we were a part of that.
