Q: How did your journey with Selux begin?
I was looking to stay in the lighting industry and heard about an open quoting position. I reached out to Lauri Blake, Director of Product Marketing, and interviewed the next day,...and the rest is history.

Q: Why do you stay?
The atmosphere is welcoming and supportive. The job itself is constantly evolving and challenging. No two days are the same. We operate as one team, and that makes a big difference.

Q: What does your role involve?
As a Senior Project Manager, I handle projects from quoting to shipping. A typical day could include quoting, preparing orders, solving problems, and managing client expectations around ship dates and timelines.

Q: What’s been your path here at Selux?
When I started, quoting and project management were separate roles. About a year in, the teams merged and we became true end-to-end project managers. I’ve since grown into a Senior PM role, taking on more leadership and responsibility.

Q: How do you collaborate across departments?
Every single day. Whether it’s phone, email, in-person, or Teams calls, I rely on other departments to do my job, and they rely on us. Collaboration is key.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?
The variety and the challenges. I love helping clients and learning something new each day. It’s never boring, and there’s always a new problem to solve.

Q: What stands out about the culture at Selux?
The teamwork, hands down. And the fun extras, like BBQs and ice cream socials which bring people together in a meaningful way.

Q: What’s something you’ve learned that applies outside of work?
Clear communication, creative problem-solving, and being open to new perspectives. These are life skills I’ve really honed here.

Q: What are you most proud of?
Growing into a Senior Project Manager and becoming a leader on the team.

Q: How does your role contribute to the success of Selux?
By making sure our clients have what they need to succeed, whether it’s accurate pricing to win a project or helping solve a design issue so the job keeps moving.

Q: Anyone at Selux who inspires you?
Regan O’Connell, Senior Project Manager. She followed her heart and took a leave to travel the country, but still stepped in to help us when we needed it. She’s a genuine, kind, team player...and a great friend.

Q: Any standout projects?
Saddleback College Science Building. It’s been an ongoing collaboration for years, and it’s rewarding to have worked through the challenges with the agent to finalize the design.
