The Stan­ley M. Truhlsen Eye Insti­tute is the home to the aca­d­e­mic pro­grams and fac­ulty prac­tice clin­ics of the UNMC Depart­ment of Oph­thal­mol­ogy and Visual Sci­ences — a state-of-the-art facil­ity designed to trans­form oph­thal­mol­ogy in Nebraska for gen­er­a­tions to come. It houses both clin­i­cal and research ser­vices such as out­pa­tient eye care, a children’s eye care center, and a regional diag­nos­tic center with the latest tech­nol­ogy that is not read­ily avail­able in the area. The insti­tute will greatly enhance clin­i­cal research and attract top res­i­dents and fel­lows to Nebraska.
