Celebrating International Dark Sky Week: April 22 - 30th, 2022

DISCOVER THE NIGHT
Selux is a year-round , sustaining and ally partner to the International Dark-Sky Association (IDA). The International Dark-Sky Association protects the night from light pollution by promoting solutions that allow people to appreciate the dark starry nights while enjoying the benefits of responsible exterior lighting. At Selux, we have been committed to producing effective outdoor luminaires that reduce light pollution for over 15 years. As technology changes, we are continually exploring ways to contribute through innovative lighting solutions.

WHAT IS LIGHT POLLUTION?
It is the presence of unwanted, excessive artificial lighting that disrupts the natural patterns of people, wildlife and climate creating serious consequences. Light pollution is a global issue that includes glare, skyglow, light trespass and clutter.

WHY IS DARK SKY IMPORTANT?
Selux strongly believes in preserving the heritage of dark skies. It is important that we take responsibility for the environment through thoughtful lighting design and luminaire design. By doing this, we can minimize the impact on wildlife, reduce energy usage and maintain dark skies for astronomical recreation and research.

HOW CAN YOU TAKE ACTION?
The dark sky movement is succeeding to bring better light to communities around the world so that all living things can thrive. Check out the events going on this week and spread the word! Let’s all work together to bring back the night sky!
