Machine Operator - Second Shift

Title: Machine Operator, 2nd Shift
Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Union        
Reports to: Machine Shop Supervisor

Job Summary: Operate machinery for making lighting fixtures in a manufacturing environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The ability to use appropriate measuring instruments to the task.
  • The ability to operate hand tools.
  • The ability to operate a variety of machines in the factory including sheet metal punching and forming, drilling, tapping, cutting, bending etc.
  • Strive to meet planned work center times in ERP system.
  • The ability to interface with other departments to accomplish tasks.
  • The ability to communicate professionally.
  • Maintain a clean work area as required.
  • Working ability to apply all applicable safety requirements to comply with regulatory agencies.
  • Performs ERP transactions accurately to company policies and procedures.


Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum two years machine shop experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints and schematics
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach within hands and arms length, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision.

 

Personal Protective Equipment:

 Includes safety glasses and additional protection as required by law and/Selux’s PPE and Safety policy.

 

Work Environment:

Product Definition & Control Technician

Title: Product Definition & Control Technician

Job Summary:  Are you a motivated and organized problem solver? Join our team and you will work collaboratively between Engineering, Production, and the Product Definition and Control departments as a liaison for technical inquiries of sales orders released to production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • ERP entry and production release maintenance of Routing and Bill of Materials (BOM) for all sales orders
  • Assist with questions regarding production status of sales order information, including part and sub-assembly releases
  • Organize product revision and design disposition schedules, compare/learn specification features and understand manufacturing methods
  • Support time-schedules of all Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) across the organization
  • Manage materials issuance and product definition control as defined by established standard operation procedures
  • Maintain operations workflow processes between order entry and production


Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor degree in Business preferred
  • Strong computer skills, including all Microsoft Office products
  • Intermediate MS Excel competency
  • Experience with MRP systems and programming
  • Ability to read lighting and manufacturing blueprints and schematics required

Powder Coater

TITLE:   Powder Coater

Classification:   Non-Exempt Union

Reports to:   Powder Coating Supervisor

Job Summary:   Apply dry-coating paint to lighting fixtures in a warehouse environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to lift fixtures to overhead hooks.
  • Lift paint boxes to load machine.
  • Apply powder coat paint to fixtures using a spray gun.
  • Change colors as needed.
  • Blow water off parts before they go into the drying oven.
  • Provide hands-on job function training to co-workers as needed.
  • Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment, and materials to Lead.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
  • Perform ERP transactions accurately and consistently as required per company policies and procedures.

 

Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiarity with spray painting process.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  None

 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Ability to work in a hot environment.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach within hands and arms length, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision.
