Assembler – 2nd shift

Title: Assembler – 2nd shift            
Classification: Non-exempt Union    2nd Shift  3;30pm-2:00am Mon-Thur          
Reports to: Plant Manager

Job Summary: Using a variety of hand & power tools, fixtures, work instructions and test equipment perform a series of operations to correctly assemble mechanical and electrical parts in a Lighting Manufacturing company

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow detailed assembly instructions, blue prints, processes and procedures.
  • Strive to meet planned work center times established in ERP system.
  • Comply with policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Lead.
  • Provide hands on job function training to coworkers as needed.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
  • Performs ERP transactions accurately to company policies and procedures.

Job Knowledge and Skills:  

  • Ability to use appropriate measuring tools
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Previous experience in assembly in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach within hands and arms length, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision.

Applications Technician

Title: Applications Technician
Classification:     Hourly/Non-Exempt   
Reports to: CEO/ Applications Lead

Job Summary: Works closely with Sales and Engineering to provide support for Selux product line through the creation of fixture layouts and technical literature. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create submittal drawings utilizing AutoCAD for customer’s interior, exterior and custom projects including BOM.
  • Evaluate change requests for comprehensive feasibility
  • Check other application team member’s projects
  • Participate in scheduling workload.
  • Provide Technical support to Inside Sales and Quotations.
  • Maintain and meet deadlines.
  • Revise change existing drawings per change requests as needed.
  • Record Project data in Syteline.
  • Manage drawing queue diary by checking daily.
  • Collaborate with other application technicians on projects.
  • Maintain standard product CAD sheets.
  • Maintain high accuracy of drawings.
  • Takes ownership of all aspects of the drawing process, using critical, creative and innovative thought processes when looking for solutions to challenges.


Education and Experience

  • 2 year certificate in AutoCAD and/or 2+ years of related experience
  • Familiarity with Solid works or other 3 D modeling programs
  • Lighting Experience a plus


Job Knowledge and Skills

  • AutoCAD
  • General architectural drawing knowledge
  • General lighting theory preferred, but willing to train.
  • Interest and ability to learn new software programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Cad Drafter I

Title: CAD Drafter I
Classification: Hourly/Non-Exempt
Reports to: Engineering Manager   


Job Summary:
Works closely with the Sales and Engineering departments to provide support for the Selux product line, engineering, and manufacturing through the creation of fixture layouts and technical support for the sales force.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create submittal drawings utilizing Solid Works for customer’s interior, exterior and custom projects.
  • Evaluate project requirements for manufacturability.
  • Provide Technical support to Inside Sales and Quotations.
  • Maintain and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain high accuracy of drawings.

Education and Experience:

  • 2 year certificate from a Technical School, 4 year degree is a plus.
  • 2+ years of Mechanical/Architectural design experience.

Job Knowledge and Skills

  • Very proficient Solid Works experience is a plus.
  • Mechanical drafting background preferred with basic architectural understanding a plus(Must be able to read Blue Prints/RCP/Electrical plans)
  • Knowledge of building construction related to lighting fixtures is a plus.Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to the workload at hand

  • None

Physical Demands:

  • Office, some work with sample fixtures and laboratory work.

Product Designer

Title: Product Designer
Classification: Salary, Exempt
Reports to: Engineering Manager

Job Summary: Works closely within the Engineering team, Manufacturing and Sales in the design and development of both new and existing product lines.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Project management of new product developments to include:
    - Maintaining time schedules, coordinating review meetings and record keeping of all documentation
  • Creation of product layout concepts (solid models and/or 2D)
  • Creation of detailed solid models
  • Creation of complete manufacturing packages to include:
    - Detailed drawings, Material specifications, BOM’s, Installation instructions and Assembly instructions
  • Evaluation of prototypes and QC of first run parts
  • Design of products to UL and CUL standards
  • Supply product information for technical literature
  • Coordination of structural and performance verification with outside consultants
  • Sourcing of new components and suppliers

Education and Experience

  • Mechanical Engineering preferred or five years related experience.
     

Job Knowledge and Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude for building of prototypes.
  • Knowledge of Assembly Drawings, Bill of Materials, and Detail Drawings.
  • Strong working knowledge of  Solid Works, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office
  • Manufacturing Principals
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Methods; sheet metal, casting, jigs and fixture design, machining methods
  • Knowledge of industry standards (UL, NEC)
     

Preferred, but willing to train:

  • General Lighting theory
  • Knowledge of UL 1598

Physical Demands

  • Building of prototypes, and lifting of lighting fixtures. Work in manufacturing to assist in startups of new designs.

Machine Operator

Title: Machine Operator
Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt – Union 2nd shift 3:30pm-2:00am Mon-Thurs
Reports to: Machine Shop Supervisor

Job summary: Operate machinery for making lighting fixtures in a manufacturing environment. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The ability to use appropriate measuring instruments to the task.
  • The ability to operate hand tools.
  • The ability to operate a variety of machines in the factory including sheet metal punching and forming, drilling, tapping, cutting, bending etc.
  • Strive to meet planned work center times in ERP system.
  • The ability to interface with other departments to accomplish tasks.
  • The ability to communicate professionally.
  • Maintain a clean work area as required.
  • Working ability to apply all applicable safety requirements to comply with regulatory agencies.
  • Performs ERP transactions accurately to company policies and procedures.

 

Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum two years machine shop experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints and schematics
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Physical Demands:
