The following positions are currently available.

Applications Technician

Title: Applications Technician
Classification:     Hourly/Non-Exempt   
Reports to: Applications Manager

Job Summary: Works closely with Sales and Engineering to provide support for Selux product line through the creation of fixture layouts and technical literature. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create submittal drawings utilizing AutoCAD for customer’s interior, exterior and custom projects including BOM.
  • Evaluate change requests for comprehensive feasibility
  • Check other application team member’s projects
  • Participate in scheduling workload.
  • Provide Technical support to Inside Sales and Quotations.
  • Maintain and meet deadlines.
  • Revise change existing drawings per change requests as needed.
  • Record Project data in Syteline.
  • Manage drawing queue diary by checking daily.
  • Collaborate with other application technicians on projects.
  • Maintain standard product CAD sheets.
  • Maintain high accuracy of drawings.
  • Takes ownership of all aspects of the drawing process, using critical, creative and innovative thought processes when looking for solutions to challenges.


Education and Experience

  • 2 year certificate in AutoCAD and/or 2+ years of related experience
  • Familiarity with Solid works or other 3 D modeling programs
  • Lighting Experience a plus


Job Knowledge and Skills

  • AutoCAD
  • General architectural drawing knowledge
  • General lighting theory preferred, but willing to train.
  • Interest and ability to learn new software programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Product Design Engineer

Title: Product Design Engineer

Reports to: Customs Solution Engineering Manager

Job Summary: Designs all aspects of the mechanical and electrical engineering of architectural lighting fixtures.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for design and documentation of custom fixtures and modifications to existing fixtures to meet customers' requests
  • Cost analysis and ROI calculations
  • Review calculations from PE for poles
  • Responsible for design activities, documentation control, engineering change coordination, BOM development and maintenance
  • Responsible for developing, reporting on and attaining project schedules and goals
  • Drive product cost reduction through design for manufacturability and assembly initiatives
  • Responsible for following established engineering procedures and standards
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing
  • Direct contact with inside sales and suppliers
  • Stays current with the latest in Lighting Technology

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years product design experience
  • 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication and electro/mechanical manufacturing assembly
  • Lighting experience is required

Job Knowledge and Skills

  • Computer skills: Solid Works, Microsoft Office and MRP system
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including: aluminum extrusion, aluminum die casting, sheet metal fabrication, product assembly and welding
  • Solid foundation in mechanical design and familiarity with electrical design
