The following positions are currently available.

Powder Coater - (1st Shift)

Title: Powder Coater - First Shift Mon-Thurs. 6am-4:30pm
Classification:
Non-exempt Union
Reports to: Paint Shop Supervisor

Job Summary:  Powder coater with at least two years' experience in a production powder line facility. Must know powder coating process and be familiar with powder coating equipment. Must be able to demonstrate ability to hang and coat. Experience and knowledge of Gema equipment especially valuable.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs visual inspection of all materials prior to coating
  • Cleans paint lines, guns, and preventative maintenance.
  • Report problems with quality, process, equipment and materials to supervisor
  • Quality control of all processes
  • Comply with policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements
  • Must have the ability to take direction and work well with others
  • Must work within the confines of Selux’s PPE and Safety Policy, which includes, Safety Glasses, gloves and dust masks.

 

 

  • 1-2 years of industrial coating system required in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to focus closely on details (attention to detail is critical)
  • Must have the ability to take direction and work well with others.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

 

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand, walk stoop, bend, and lift overhead.
  • Ability to move/lift up to 75lbs
  • Frequently required to use hands to handle objects
  • Ability to work in a hot environment.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision.

 

Personal Proactive Equipment

 

  • Includes safety glasses and additional protection as required by law and/Selux’s PPE and Safety policy.

Work Environment

 

  • Will be required to work in manufacturing & warehouse areas.  Will be exposed to a noisy hot environment routinely.

Interior Assembler

Title: Interior Interior Assembler - First Shift Mon-Thurs 6am-4:30pm          
Classification: Non-exempt Union   
Reports to: Plant Manager

Job Summary: Using a variety of hand & power tools, fixtures, work instructions and test equipment perform a series of operations to correctly assemble mechanical and electrical parts in a Lighting Manufacturing company

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow detailed assembly instructions, blue prints, processes and procedures.
  • Strive to meet planned work center times established in ERP system.
  • Comply with policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Lead.
  • Provide hands on job function training to coworkers as needed.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
  • Performs ERP transactions accurately to company policies and procedures.

Job Knowledge and Skills:  

  • Ability to use appropriate measuring tools
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Previous experience in assembly in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach within hands and arms length, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision.

Machine Shop Materials Handler - 2nd Shift

Title: Material Handler (2nd Shift) 3:30pm-2am
Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Union        
Reports to: Machine Shop Supervisor

Job Summary: Ensure that all materials for production are managed appropriately. * Must have forklift experience


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive material into shop inventory.  
  • Ensure material is put away and stored in proper location that meets safety requirements for storage.  
  • Stage material to ensure that all work stations have correct raw material needed for modification. 
  • Find and / or create new locations for new material as needed.
  • Manage material flow in the shop.
  • Provide assistance to machine operators as needed.
  • Ability to interface with other departments to accomplish tasks.
  • Perform ERP transactions accurately to company policies and procedures. 
  • Maintain a clean work area as required. 
  • Working ability to apply all applicable safety requirements to comply with regulatory agencies.
  • The ability to use appropriate measuring instruments to the task. 
  • The ability to operate hand tools. 
  • The ability to operate a variety of machines in the factory including sheet metal punching and forming, drilling, tapping, cutting, bending etc. 


Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum two years machine shop experience
  • Fork lift Certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints and schematics
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach within hands and arms length, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
