Maintenance Technician

Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:  It is the responsibility of the Maintenance Technician to perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance as well as emergency repairs on production equipment and building systems.

Non-Exempt Union

 

Facility Manager

 

  • Complete assigned Maintenance Work Orders that include electrical, plumbing and carpentry requests
  • Assist in developing procedures for servicing and maintaining new equipment
  • Building maintenance including HVAC, electrical, carpentry, plumbing and snow removal
  • Assist with new equipment installs and startup
  • Respond to production emergencies on both first and second shifts
  • Actively participate in process improvements including implementing LEAN principals
  • Become active member of the Safety Committee
  • Demonstrate and help enforce safe work practices
  • Be available to work overtime when required

 

  • Minimum of four years’ experience in manufacturing / building maintenance
  • Familiarity with basic electrical and pneumatic control circuits.
  • Able to operate powered vehicle equipment including forklifts, platform lifts and Boom Lifts
  • Familiarity with basic construction trades (framing, plumbing, electrical wiring, sheet rocking, painting etc.)
  • Awareness of environmental rules and regulations helpful
  • Physical Demand Requirements:
  • Standing, walking and moderate lifting (up to50 lbs)
  • Must be tolerant of working at heights (up to 30 ft.)
  • Clean driver’s license

Receiving Warehouse Worker - 1st Shift

Title: Receiving Warehouse Worker - 1st Shift

Classification: Non-exempt Union
Reports to: Receiving Supervisor

Job Summary:  The receiving worker will ensure that all materials needed for production are stored in a safe and correct manner.  This position will also have the responsibility of confirming materials received match vendor paperwork. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive and unload incoming material and compare information on packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipment
  • Sort, count, label, and put away inventory that is received
  • Inspect shipments for damages, loss, or defects, and notify the QC and purchasing departments of findings
  • Responsible for accurately receiving purchased items and updating ERP system.
  • Process all returns, such as customer returns and inform appropriate parties. Maintain paperwork of these transactions.
  • Operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading material and equipment


Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Previous experience in warehouse in a manufacturing environment
  • Good written and oral communication skills

Supervisory Responsibilities:  None


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to utilize power equipment as per licensing requirements

Powder Coater - Split Shift

Title: Powder Coater - Split Shift, 11:00am-9:30pm
Classification:
Non-exempt Union
Reports to: Powder Coating Supervisor

Job Summary:  Apply dry-coating paint to lighting fixtures in a warehouse environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to lift fixtures to overhead hooks,
  • Lift paint boxes to load machine,
  • Apply powder coat paint to fixtures using a spray gun.
  • Change colors as needed.
  • Blow water off parts before they go into the drying oven.
  • Provide hands on job function training to coworkers as needed.
  • Comply with policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Lead.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
  • Perform ERP transactions accurately and consistently as required per company policies and procedures.

 

 

  • Familiarity with spray painting process.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently

Job Summary: Using a variety of hand & power tools, fixtures, work instructions and test equipment perform a series of operations to correctly assemble mechanical and electrical parts in a Lighting Manufacturing company

Machine Operator - Second Shift

Title: Machine Operator, 2nd Shift
Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Union        
Reports to: Machine Shop Supervisor

Job Summary: Operate machinery for making lighting fixtures in a manufacturing environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The ability to use appropriate measuring instruments to the task.
  • The ability to operate hand tools.
  • The ability to operate a variety of machines in the factory including sheet metal punching and forming, drilling, tapping, cutting, bending etc.
  • Strive to meet planned work center times in ERP system.
  • The ability to interface with other departments to accomplish tasks.
  • The ability to communicate professionally.
  • Maintain a clean work area as required.
  • Working ability to apply all applicable safety requirements to comply with regulatory agencies.
  • Performs ERP transactions accurately to company policies and procedures.


Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum two years machine shop experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints and schematics
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes.

Product Definition & Control Analyst

Title: Product Definition & Control Analyst

Job Summary:  The Product Definition & Control Analyst is tasked with delivering product definition stability throughout the organization for the purpose of accurately and efficiently delivering product-related information to internal departments.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in all questions regarding product definition, and operations workflow regarding product delivery throughout the organization
  • Determine current-state/future-state of product standards
  • Work collaboratively between senior management, Engineering, Production, and Product Management as a liaison to advise all regarding technical inquiries of product differentiation and spec-features
  • Support Production Controller with organizing product revision and design disposition schedules, compare/learn specification features and understand manufacturing methods
  • Support time-schedules of all Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) across the organization
  • Maintain product resources as needed; including prototypes and custom modifications
  • Maintaining and improving operations workflow processes between point-of-sale and production
  • Custodian to release definition of product line for Production, Engineering, and Product Management
  • Product Life Cycle analysis
  • Detailed costing analysis


Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Business preferred
  • Project Management experience; strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills, to include; all Microsoft Office products, Network+, programming familiarity and advanced Excel
  • Experience with MRP systems, preferably Syteline
  • Ability to read lighting and manufacturing blueprints and schematics required.

Mechanical Engineer

Title: Mechanical Engineer
Classification: Salaried/Exempt
Reports to: VP Engineering and Operations

Job Summary: Designs all aspects of the mechanical and electrical engineering of architectural lighting fixtures.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates new product development activities from initial conception, design, mock-up, testing, UL coordination and 1st production units.
  • Responsible for design activities, documentation control, engineering change coordination, BOM development and maintenance.
  • Electronic vaulting of all documentation.
  • Responsible for developing, reporting on and attaining project schedules and goals.
  • Drive product cost reduction through design for manufacturability and assembly initiatives.
  • Responsible for establishing engineering procedures and standards.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing.
  • Direct contact with inside sales and suppliers.
  • Stays current with the latest in Lighting Technology.

Education and Experience

  • Mechanical Designer with related experience or Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Technology.
  • LC is a plus.
  • 5+ years product design experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication and electro/mechanical manufacturing assembly.
  • Lighting Experience is preferred but not required.

Job Knowledge and Skills

  • Computer skills; Solid Works, Microsoft Office and MRP system.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes; milling, drilling, extrusions, casting, sheet metal processing, product assembly, welding and fabricating.
  • Solid foundation in mechanical design and familiarity with electrical design.
  • Knowledge of general lighting theory and UL1598 Luminaries and NEC preferred.

Travel Requirements

  • Domestic and foreign travel may occasionally be required.

Work environment

  • Works in Engineering office. Some work in Manufacturing for construction and evaluation of prototypes and manufacturing instruction.
